edit (Dec.13/2008): I still haven't found a single store with HP Sauce. However, someone said he looked in his fridge and saw a bottle of HP Sauce in there (plz note, NOT A1 sauce, which tastes like putrid HP Sauce...).

Apparently that person bought it at some store (Homeplus? Emart?) at some location. It appears perhaps that some stores might randomly carry it.

If this is the case, and you've seen it or think you've seen it, let me know!

I need HP Sauce!

Hanam Supermarket has the KD (but the American kind which isn't quite the same) and the HP sauce. Not sure about the noodles though.

They have mac and cheese at Costco, but it's not KD.

I say HP sauce, Wangja.. but I am thinking it's the A-1 Steak Sauce.

Don't know. Let me go later today and check it out when I pop in the bank.

Ah yes, A1. In the UK, before the advertising laws demanded that an ad be truthful, A1 sauce was marketed as "Brand's A1" sauce and allegedly to the recipe of Mr Brand, the chef to King George III who was quoted as saying "Brand, this sauce is A1"

Did you ever watch Lenny Henry in "Chef!"? His secret ingredient was "Daddy's sauce" ....

I got my HP sauce while in the Philipines. I simply couldn't find it in Korea. Nowhere. Hannam...no. Costco...no.

BTW Wangja, Daddy's Sauce was a fairly good substitute for HP. Goes well on a corn-beef sarnie (there! I said it Butterfly!!)

I would die of shock if E-mart had HP Tzechuk. Although my Korean wife loves it so they should try it out here. I suspect it's to Koreans taste.

However much we hate the jarheads and the competition they give us for OUR Korean women, there's something to be said for having your PX connection.

I don't think you can get HP sauce in the PX.

Damn, I suspect you are right Eamo. No HP in RoK.

Might have to do as TZ does and spend a weekend in Hong Kong for the shopping: my (Korean) wife loves just loves going to Hong Kong. Wink

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw HP sauce at Carre-Fourre (Inha). I'm going after work and will reply. I prefer A-1, so I didn't pay much attention to the other sauces.

We've got a bottle of HP sauce in the fridge, and the only place I can think that we could have gotten it would be E-Mart. We don't go to Carrefour, I know we've never seen it at Hannam....

is it possible that certain EMart branches carry it and others don't?? One near us has a little imported foods aisle....it's possible we've picked it up there.

I can ask when husband gets home, he is after all, the brown sauce eater, the stuff makes me barf. (I'd much prefer that we couldn't get it in Korea....)

Anyway, as for the KD, as others have said, Hannam, Costco, or we can get it here at the black market in Bundang if that is any help. (OMG! It's possible that's where the HP came from...... Embarassed ) The Ichiban stuff I don't even know what it is..
