Holy crap. The pollution on airkorea is rising by the hour. I was just commenting this morning how my neighborhood always comes up green. And it's yellow today for the first time ever! |

Welcome to Seoul, Armpit of Asia. In Colorful Daegu, the pollution levels are about 1/4th that of Seoul at the moment. Hope you're enjoying your lungs up there! |

Daegu isn't looking that hot. Busan is still good but the way things are going, it might be brown cess-pit by dinnertime. |

Wow. This explains why I was having some trouble breathing before. To the vets, how long does it typically stay in the unhealthy zone? I'm from Georgia so I'm used to weathering it through the pollen season with my allergies. I'm just trying to figure out how often I'm gonna have breathing troubles.
Thanks! |

I think around the end of March. I arrived mid-way through March 08 and there was hardly any dust around then. Mind you I live near Busan where it's a little cleaner. |

It's really sweeping in now. Busan just turned orange. My neighborhood is very unhealthy, for the first time ever (that I have seen). |

Same, arrived mid March. As I recall I was sick for 2 months straight after I arrived...constant eye streaming nose snot running hawking up shit general feeling of illness. I wondered what kind of hell I had entered.
And I wonder still.... |

Sorry to hear that, what city are you in? I'm a delicate flower when it comes to irritants but didn't find it too bad down south. I was actually worse back in NZ during late summer when farmers made hay because of all the material from that being released into the air. Believe it or not Korea is actually better for my respiratory health in general. I've yet to spend a spring here though. |

It's strange, isn't it? I read that NZ and Australia have the worst cases of asthma..
I find the air here really bad. I live in a small town which is basically in a basin, so it seems to have a permanent smog hanging over it. I suspect my breathing problems are the cause of half my problems with this country.
It's really hard to live well when you can't breathe properly.
Man, today is BAD! deep red on the cart!! |
