I'm pretty sure the music festivals i've heard of before were usually held in the spring/summertime, but I thought I'd ask now and get a feel for what to expect anyway.

You know those rock festivals (the only one that comes to mind is the Pentaport one in Incheon around... May?) I'd like to know more about them, when they're held (approx what month)and when. And any extra info would be appreciated as well, like links to websites or ticket prices, etc.

Thanks in advance Very Happy

Pentaport is the big one, but as far as I remember the English site wasn't functioning and they were changing the lineup within a few weeks of the event this year and last.

Sad to say, but you probably won't get much information about these events until they're right around the corner.

You're better off heading to Japan for Fuji Rock. Always killer, lots of fun camping. If you prefer the city, Summersonic always has a great lineup in Tokyo or Osaka. 2 days, but the venues often suck. Either way, beats whatever K is cooking up. Did see Bjork in Feb, in Seoul, though. Nice-uh!

I can't imagine what the hype is over festivals. You have to be farther away from the bands, the sound usually sucks, there are too many retarded people there, and the facilities are awful.

Pentaport usually happens right before or after the Fuji Rock festival. The Pentaport acts are some of the ones who played Fuji. There'd be no other reason for so many live acts to be in Asia at the same time.

There's also the Flow Festival which takes place at the end of August.

The only one I've bothered going to here is Ssamzie Sound Festival. Usually there are a few good bands, although it's easier to see them play pretty well any weekend in Hongdae.

Its down in Busan. But it's free and on a nice beach. We went this past summer and enjoyed the music. There are no western bands but some good Korean rock/punk bands and a few from all over Asia.
