I have just had a job interview. After the interview I was told by the interviewer they want me to start in January 09 and it was non-negoitable.
Problem is my hagwon contract runs until the middle of Feb 09? The interviewer explained this is not a problem and that they would "take care of it."
They offered to pay me my severance pay if I was successful in the interview process. She also talked about going for a company medical next week which indicates I may well have been successful.
I'm worried though because this is a corporate job and they don't seem to have a strong understanding of how the teacher visa process works for teachers. No mention was made of a visa run to Japan etc. I'm specifically worried about how immigration will view me jumping from one job to another I'm on E2.
Can I just quit, move into a hotel and start working elsewhere? I'm not sure what to do here, I feel like a shit because the hagwon's intensives are coming up-hopefully (if I get it) I can start after the intensives as this is really too good a job for me to turn down.
Anyone out there had a similar situation? |

Yes it can be done.....and it will be done all the easier if you leave on amicable terms and with your current boss's consent (as in my case).
However whether you can transfer or will need to do a run to Japan in order to secure a new visa is unclear.
Take a look here......... http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=135353
Ps. Slide away ...... and give it all you've got
My today ...... fell in from the top
I dream of you ...... and all the things you say
I wonder where you are now....................
Ah those were the days...... |
