Posted: Mon Dec 15, 2008 3:01 am Post subject: DVD with USB- doesnt play movies. whats up with that? |

so I have this dvd player with a USB slot.
Ive plugged my portable usb flash drive in and it only reads music..
whats the story here? did I buy the wrong player? or do I need to play around with settings?

| Without knowing your exact player I can't be sure, but a lot of players are picky with formats and files. Try it with different types of video files. |

I have one and it plays mpeg and avi (encoded with divx) - if the file extension is .divx it won't play, changing it to avi works.
If you need to convert the file get a hold of xilisoft video convertor ultimate - it truly is the ultimate.
I've only had to convert a couple of movies that I donwloaded. TV shows always work. |

| it would help if you said what kind of player you have, but its possible that your player is setup for a different type of tv... mine had a similar problem and since then there has only been ONE program that i couldnt watch on the dvd player.. it must have had the .divx format |
