See:

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/12/22/senate-harper.html

So who's Mike Duffy? Well, if you had to ask that question then you don't know enough about Canadian politics to comment on this thread.

Mike Duffy once threatened to sue the late, unfunny Frank magazine, because he blamed their satire of him for his not getting the Order Of Canada.

He also caused Margaret Trudeau to burst into tears by consoling her, on the occassion of her husband's death, with the words "And so soon after Michel". (Margaret's son who had died a year or so earlier.)

I dunno. Every time I see something about the guy in the press, he just seems to be making a jackass of himself.

.. by Royal prerogative.

"Governor General and ten Lieutenant-Governors in the exercise of the powers of the Crown"

"All institutions of government are said to act under the sovereign's authority"

"Parliamentary approval is not required for the exercise of the Royal Prerogative; moreover, the consent of the Crown must be obtained before either of the houses of parliament may even debate a bill"

"The government of Canada is also thus formally referred to as Her Majesty's Government."

"Many Canadians, though, continue to be unaware that the Queen serves as their head of state"

In Canada a poll found that only five percent of the population could
correctly identify Elizabeth II as their head of state (the majority believing it
to be the Prime Minister).

Hey Jandar, it must get pretty chaotic in the American legal system, eh, 'cuz whenever they have a trial, it's like The People Versus Joe Blow, so they gotta, like, y'know, ask everyone in the country whether or not Joe Blow should be prosecuted, and how does that work, cuz, like, holy cow, there are 300 million people in the US and that includes, like, babies and senile people and guys on life support, eh, not to mention ya got yer psychos like Charles Manson, so how the heck can everyone in the country make these decisions about whether or not to prosecute some guy in Boise Idaho for smokin' a reefer, eh?

I'm sure that's putting it in a language in which Jandar might somehow be able to understand, but I somehow doubt it.

Just goes to show you how much Canadians feel about her and what powers you think sho holds. It's only you that seems to have some obsession with her.

Jeez, Jandar, its getting old.

Maybe you ought to harrass the Kiwis or Irish for awhile. They don't get enough attention.
