I went to the pension service in Seongnam just now to get a Certificate of National Pension Contributions and I already know that I can't get the refund.
Anyhow, I wanted my pension contributions to support my UK pension contributions since I have been out of the UK for a few months. The lady kept saying I can't get a refund because I am British (which I already know) but I wanted the Pension Service to transfer my contributions to the UK National Insurance so that I get the entire pension when I retire but the lady just didn't understand.
Has any other British fellow been able to sort out their pension in Korea to their UK one? Why is it so difficult? It appears that I am now out of just more than 4 million KRW and will not be able to get it as a form of pension in years to come. |

yeah.. sorry to break the news to you... the national pension is not reciprocated and therefore not transferrable. |
