My friend just got a Wii back home in North America, and Im thinking of getting one here. Is there a way that you can play against eachother? I though I read something about entering in a number/code, but aside from that Im lost. Do you connect it to the internet (wifi) or something? Im confuzzled.

Yeah, I think you need something called a friend code and for each game too. It's a bit annoying.

If you want to send Miis or letters to each other you need to add each other to each others friend list. To do this I believe you go into your calendar area and then into your address book. Here you can get your number and enter friend's numbers. Once you exchange numbers and enter them it'll take a bit for Nintendo's system to recognize that you're friends now. Once this goes through you can send them messages, miis, photos, etc...

There's a similar process for each game you want to play with them too. If you both have the same game you can go into the game and get your friend code and then register their friend code. I can't remember how many games actually use this, but I've used it for Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. It's not the worst, but definitely isn't the best either.
