Well I just got shafted by Pandora Sales (an online store that sells "genuine" magic memory sticks). I went to test the Magic Gate on my PSP and it says "unknown" rather than "supported"...so it's a fake.
So I'm just going to just do it myself and buy a card at Emart or Homeplus here in Busan, but I have a couple questions:
1)Does anyone know how much a 4 gb PRO DUO goes for there? (I don't care if it's genuine Sony...Sandisk is just as good)
2)Can I trust that all of their products are genuine? (logic tells me that I should trust a retail store, but then again I'm more than a little paranoid about getting a fake one again).
I'd appreciate if anyone who's purchased one there can let me know how it is. |

I got an 8GB sandisk card for 32k from GMarket. Obviously fake, MagicGate is unknown.....but who cares...it stores 8GB of data, plays all my games, loads movies etc.....MagicGate is just a copy protection...if the card doesnt fail in the near future i dont care - if it does....well screw it, only cost me 32k, and ive gotten a lot of use out of it already.

I don't care about the Magic Gate function, I know what it is and I only mention it because it is a reliable test to find out if a card is fake.
I understand that it is possible to get a fake card and have it work fine. But this isn't always the case, there is no way to tell when it will crap out on you, corrupt your data, etc. Plus, read/write speeds are usually considerably slower.
So to reiterate, do Emart and Homeplus carry authentic cards and are they affordable? |
