If I quit a job in korea (done with 2 months notice) can I come back into Korea on a visator's visa a few months after I lose my e-2? And no... I don't intend to teach, just visit old friends. my big concern is that my place of work won't release my contract out of spite or get me blacklisted at immigration or something.

No way. If you exercise free choice by quitting, and then return later, you will be summarily executed. This will apply for 50 years after you leave. You will serve as an example to all who may think the same way you do. And the way you think, and possibly act, will not be tolerated here.

Seriously, though.

Immy doesn't give a rat's ass if you quit or not. You'll be able to come back after quitting a job. Why wouldn't you be able to come back? They wouldn't be kicking you out. You'd simply be leaving by choice. If you come back before your E-2 expires, you may or may not be stopped by somebody. It depends on whether or not your employer paid for your plane ticket here and is due a refund if you leave early, or you do serious damage to your apartment somehow. This would be spelled out in the contract, and then any violations would have to be reported. Reporting violations may draw unwanted attention to somebody who himself may bend the rules. Besides, your situation would be a civil matter. What would immy do? Cane you?
