I love using Firefox because of all the great add-ons, but it isn't as safe as people think. Symantec has even judged it more vulnerable than IE.

However, Firefox still has the "Mac OS X Inoculation". That is, nobody cares to hack it because it it not popular enough (yet).

The only safety for a piece of software is obscurity. If a hacker wants to hack something he will.

I don't know enough about Firefox to comment.

On the OS X front, however, that argument has been done to death. Popularity is hardly the issue. People love to use this line, with little in the way of research to back it up.

There is a lot more to it.
