Has anybody been to Africa? I love African women and would like to visit someday. I saw a dating web-site that showed women from the Ivory Coast who were unbelievably beautiful.

Not just the women but the food, comfort, safety etc...Can anybody recommend a country other than northern Africa that you've been to and loved?

If you've been to the Ivory Coast I'd love to hear from you. I know the name has changed but I like the name Ivory Coast!

And for those weathered travelers, would you advise to just avoid it due to the dangers, costs, risks ect...relative to other countries you've been to?

If it were me, I would try one of the easier, softer, African countries first:
Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Namibia, Mauritius even perhaps Kenya. These are places that have infrastructure and are set up for tourism and you won't be overwhelmed.

Cote de Ivorie is a US $2000+ trip from Korea (via Paris or Dubai) and it would be unwise to go there on a whim just for a fetish/fantasy.

Very difficult to have a holiday when you are surrounded by poverty, lack of hygiene, lack of personal safety, can't drink the water, have unreliable transport and have an uncomfortably high chance of catching a variety of life threatening illnesses.

Soviet_man's got good advice.

Best place to start would probably be South Africa. It's easy to get to from Korea (you can sometimes pick up a return ticket for about 1 million won). From South Africa you can easily visit other countries, especially Mozambique, which is amazing. Mozambique is good for cheap beach holidays and great seafood. You can also make trips to Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, and even Zambia.

You could also do a trip to Malawi, which is a really laidback and a safe destination (it's often called Africa lite). I went for 3 weeks to Malawi for my honeymoon and loved it. No plans - just an outdated guidebook and a return flight ticket. Awesome.

I was to Africa last summer to both Kenya and Ghana. It was expensive, way too much for me with the air fare, but once on the ground I found Ghana very cheap to travel and live in.

As for Kenya did not get out of the capital much do to time, and any capital is expensive. And, sorry to say that Nairobi has a bad crime rate too. Most of the locals stay off the streets at night, and if you have the money you take a taxi. Please, do not consider this a bad place as many of the people are friendly so just get out of the city. Besides, I met my girl friend there and she is coming here to see me in January. So, you are right African women are very beautiful and they are all over the place of course. 
