It's just gotta be completely retarded to live a lie, and worse, preaching to others about how "sinful" it all is. Seems like he's starting to crack though. If he leads a Gay Pride parade a few years down the road I'd stop thinking he's a total schmuck and shake his hand.

The choices he made in his life may be regretful but he made them. He has five children that need to be taken care of. His sexual needs come last. He made his bed...he has the right idea that he needs to lay in it for the sake of his kids. They don't need their fifty year old father leading a gay pride parade in leather pants and no shirt even if it is the right thing for his life.

"for the sake of the children."
I dunno.
Life with mom and dad who are clearly not into each other...probably not happy, possibly just barely tolerating each other...kids aren't stupid...is growing up living in the middle of that kind of parental non-relationship not more damaging?
Do you really think kids just sit back and take the mature view and say "Well you know we admire them for sticking to their marriage vows for our sake"
Ha ha, sure.

The thing to do is to coparent for as long as possible. When the kids are older they'll understand. If a divorce can be amicable then it may be the best option. A messy divorce with young children could scar them for life IMO.
