|
|
| Uh oh, I think I caught pink eye from one of the kids, it's been so red and itchy since this morning. The school nurse told me to go to the hospital- I think it's not necessary. What to do? Will it go away on its own? Never had that before. |

It's better to take cautionary measures if you think you have conjunctivitis. It can become a nasty infection if you don't. |

| If it's bacterial, then you're fixed with Visine and time. If it's viral, then you'll need a scrip. Either way, go see the doc for your drops, and stop rubbing! |

You should go to the doctor.
You may have trouble reading your next post about how you went blind in Korea. |

Oh my. I just spent 50,000 two days ago at the doctor for pharyngitis, five bags of medicine and an injection. Will it cost as much? |

Not joking,
but Pink eye has to be one of the grossest diseases.
If not for the already medically stated dangers at least do it for the ramifications it will have on your appearance.
In my high school I once saw a student who came to school with it, JESUS BLOODY CHIRST. I could not be in the same room. It was gross how it developed. It was all this crusty shit all over his eyelids and it looked like his eyes just ate their way through a giant oatmeal cookie.
plus you should be worried about giving it to other people. |

Ew- that's nasty.
I don't look anything like that (yet) - it's just a bit red as of now. |

I'm at a middle school in Incheon and I swear to god, kids come in with pink eye on a daily basis. When one of my co-teachers first told me I looked at her in horror. I told her that it was highly contagious, and she said that it's okay because the students have to sit in the back away from everyone. Right. That makes it okay.
I'm also pretty sure that the co-teacher had pink-eye last week. She said the doctor told her to take a rest. That was his advice.

| Last year our middle school students were purposely spreading it. At one point over 20% of the school had it. |

It is possible, of course, that you just poked yourself in the eye while you slept. If that's the case, then get some Visine; you'll be fine tomorrow. |
