At my house, alone, enjoying the peace.
New Years stopped being fun when staying up to midnight was a regular occurrence.
Although I did find a place that sells roman candles here...

Okay, I guess what I meant was, what are some of the big things to do out here? This will be my first New Years in Seoul, and I was wondering what some of the bigger events to attend would be. I want to bring in the new year with a bang, ya know? |

Every one of my foreign friends here is going to the phillipeans(sp?) but because I'm the only public school chap and I cant take holidays before the 29th of december I had to stay behind.
Over six years ago I made a vow that I would never drink on new years again after a rather drunken and stupid new years. Well after 6 years of adhering to that, I will be breaking it this year.
I bought a bottle of Chivas Brothers Royal Salute. Cost me a bloody fortune, but since I'm breaking a vow I might as well do it with style. So thats whats going to get me trashed this New Years. |

Lots of folks here in Hanam are working the 3 days following Christmas...holiday does not start until the 31st.
would be nice if folks would get together at someone's place or a local spot and have a nice way to bring in the new year... |

Really? There's no giant streets parties like in Times Square Manhattan or SF? This is one of the largest cities in the world, there has to be something big going on.
If you had a friend visiting you in Seoul for New Years, where would you take her for the evening of New Years Eve? |

They ring a huge bell. Huge crowds, enough so that you can barely move, a la Times Square, if that's what you want.
It's at Jonggak station. |
