I have a Sony Vaio PCG-R505EL notebook computer for sale. I live in Seoul. It is highly portable and comes with a detachable docking station which houses a CD-RW/DVD drive (without docking station it is only 1 inch thick). Also included are a Linksys wireless-G 802.11g 2.4 GHz PCMIA card and a Cables to Go 2-Port USB 2.0 "Port Authority 2" PCMIA card. Recently, the hard drive was replaced and upgraded from 30GB to 60GB. There are minor scratches on the case and two small stickers which can be removed.
Here are the specs:
Windows XP Home Edition (SP3; English w/ original CD and key)
PIII 1.13 Ghz CPU
256 MB RAM (upgradable to 384 MB)
60 GB Hard drive
12.1" XGA
2 USB 1.0 Ports
PCMIA Port
Firewire port
Sony memory card reader
Various other ports (which are replicated on the docking station)
Battery - At this point usually lasts between 1.5 - 2 hours.
AC Adapter

Hey,
I'll give you 90,000 for it. No offense.
Reason for this price: Small screen 12.1 inch, memory not upgradable to more than 384 which itself makes is very old for windows later than 98.

Well, I bought the computer with Windows Me installed and later upgraded to XP. The machine has been running XP for at least three years regularly running software like Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Photoshop (which I am not selling with the computer) without any problems. If you care to take a look at it drop me a line. It is a great thin and small laptop for professionals and students and may suit your needs as long as gaming and video processing aren't essential elements of your computer life (although, even there the computer is not completely incapable, its just slower and can't handle the latest things like hi-def and the graphics intensive games produced after around 2003). I'm not a computer specialist and I can't make any claims about its performance in technical terms, but I know from experience what the computer can do. Other than my personal experience you'll have to see it yourself and determine if its capabilities are enough for you. |

OK, I understand what you mean.
BTW, I did not want windows CD with it. You could keep the CD. If this laptop had capability to upgrade ram to 1G then I would surely raise my offer with reasonable margin. |

Wow, good job on making a computer with a P3 last so long. This would probably be a good computer to run a Linux distribution that uses XFCE as its desktop manager. |

I think you're right, Golem. I'm going to give it a try. My notebook computer isn't for sale anymore. Thank you all for the interest/comments. |
