It still surprises me that both employers and fellow putative instructors still do not know the difference between a Graduate Diploma in TESOL and those short course ESL certificates. I just wanted to clarify the difference.

With a Grad Dip in TESOL one can teach the IB program, ESL to all foreign International Students in any ESL related context and International government funded or subsidised ESL instruction and learning program.

Most of those CELTA/ ESL and your fraudulent ESL certificates from Thailand or other bogus institutions are worth nothing if one is to teach in internationally accredited government learning institutions.

The other benefit of a Grad Dip in TESOL is that places like the EMB Hong Kong, American learning centers, Australian and UK learning centers realise the difference between a crapshoot ESL certificate and a Grad Dip in TESOL, at least I hope to think so especially when people like me have to receive the flat rate equivalent wage of someone with a crappy one month certificate.

Not in Korea, unless it's a university with foreigners on the hiring committee.
