| I've been to the doctor's here a few times now and it's pretty cheap, so how come the insurance is going to cost like 3 million won a year? I'm smelling a rat. |

Insurance costs YOU 2.54% of your salary (with your employer matching your contribution). You salary would have to be around 10mill a month for insurance to cost you 3mill a year.
If you are in the 2-2.5mill/month bracket, It will cost you 50K-63K a month. Or 600K-760K a year. |

the national insurance plan is 2.54% of your salary and that is matched by your employer.

It sounds like your hakwon is getting you private insurance at 100% of your own expense.
Be aware that private insurance will NOT cover the portion of your expenses that is required to be covered by NHIC.
Sounds like you have a shitty hakwon.
