I have absolutely nothing to do. No classes, no work, nothing. I am going out of my mind.

So what's worse? Too much work or no work?

I think too much in this line of work anyway. I have very little to do at the moment so its just net surfing, but in my last teaching job in a hagwon i was teaching 7 hours a day. Although I do get pretty bored most days. Rolling Eyes

Seriously, pick up a hobby, study korean with some books, or just watch movies....

Too much work is definitely awful. 7 in a row writing classes with graded essays or HW. NO thanks. I`d rather just read, watch movies and chat online aka nothing than go back to that teaching day.

If you don't have enough work, you won't have that problem for long.

There are a million things you could do with your time, even if you're stuck at work - Learn a new language? Study a scientific field that you don't know anything about? Research new travel locations? Write articles? Write more than articles?

I voted for not enough work.

It's one of the many reasons why I left my public school after 2 years and dove back into my old hagwon job.

I would rather be really busy and get my day over with faster. I wasn't enjoying the obscene amount of free time.

I really enjoy teaching and being with the kids. At least in the classroom things are more interesting and dynamic.

At my public school there was no job satisfaction because I didn't feel like I was accomplishng anything meaningful. With my kids now, I do.

Now, if I were to end up teaching a full schedule with grading on top of that for 6 months straight, my opinion would probably change, but I have never been in that position.

So for the moment, I stick with what I know: not enough to do SUCKS.

I have no classes today and so far I've spent about half an hour photocopying and stapling together the books I made for winter camp and most of my time 'surfing'. I also went to the bank, post office and Immigration. I took a long lunch went home a watched some TV, came back to school and had a nap. I LOVE IT!

Hard choice.

Nothing to do means my piles hurt.

Too much to do mean my feet hurt.

I always love peoples helpful advice on things that you could do....learn Korean. That is the last thing I would want to do at work.

I've done both as well and I'd much rather be kept busy. With too much free time I just end up wasting most of what I have. When I'm busy I'm more productive in every area of my life.

I'm a touch on the lazy side... I'm also addicted to the internet... Would much rather spend my afternoons reading the news, watching stuff on youtube, hitting up facebook, etc etc etc than being over worked and potentially burnt out...
