Ive only heard four:
Lil Wayne - The Carter III (love some of it, hate some of it)
Q-Tip - The Renaissance (really fun)
Clipse - Road Till the Casket Comes (decent, a few stand-out tracks)
Lupe Fiasco - The Cool (not nearly as good as Food & Liquor)
any others worth checking out? |

I like my hip-hop strange with a little more melody:
Why? - Alopecia
Subtle - Exiting Arm
The former I've listened to a lot and love it. It barely qualifies as hip-hop though. I downloaded the latter a few days ago and have only listened once or twice, but it's definitely interesting, one of the more original albums I've heard in a while. |

I haven't closely followed hip hop recently, it's kind of sucked. The Lupe Fiasco album was dreadful IMHO but the new Q-Tip one rocks. I got the new Common album (produced by the Neptunes) just last night and that sounds promising too. Does Flying Lotus count as hip-hop? I love that album. |

Kano - MC number 1 (bootlegs)
Ninja Tunes - You Don't Know. (Not 100% hip hop but there are some BAAAD tunes on there - eg Mike Ladd 'blah blah') |

I don't know but I think Good hip hop is hard to find these days!
the 80's 90's pretty much rapped everything there was to rap about growing up in the hood! selling crack to get paid pimps and hos, and my 9" gat! blar blar, work your way out the hood etc etc.. etc..
bring back public enemy!!! |

Do you like The Coup?
They didn't actually release anything this year. Their last album came out in 06, titled Pick a Bigger Weapon. It was pretty decent, but a little weak with too much filler on the album. Steal This Album is my personal favorite favorite.
