Heh, I asked about vaccines just a few threads below for this very same reason.

You'll find Hep B is a series vaccination, requiring three shots, usually over at least four months... meaning your coverage won't be at an optimal level until several months from now.

So keep away from those snot-nosed little buggers!

I did see your thread and I made it redundant--I can delete this if you delete your reponse to it. I thought Hep had a booster did not know it was so complicated

I had mine done here in Korea (but not in Seoul). I had a series of 3 shots..........1 per month at 5000W per shot. Try the International Clinic in Itewon.

I wonder if I should get my first shot here in Vancouver, and then get the next two in Busan.

I assume all three shots have to be of the same manufacturer..... will Korea have the same vaccine makes as Canada?

If I were you I would wait until I arrived here in Korea. Not sure if you have been in Korea before..........if not.........you will soon find out that Koreans are extremely anal about many things. What I am trying to say is they are RIGID. The clinic you go to here may insist that you start the shots all over again. I;m not saying this will happen but they MIGHT.

When I had mine I went to get the third one about 4 days early because I was going home. The clinic did not want to give it to me because I was 4 days early. It took a lot of moaning to get them to do it!

you only want B? Hep-B is the sexually(or blood) transmitted one, hopefully noone's getting it from any little buggers.
Hep-A is the one you can pick up from unproperly washed/prepared food, ie. server goes for #2 but doesn't wash their hands> > >
go for the Twinrex(A+B)> > > i never got my other two shots after arriving in Korea> > > Rolling Eyes don't share any razors~

I've already got vaccines for Hep A, polio, Japanese encephalitis, etc. Hep B's the only one that's outstanding for me.

I realize I'm very unlikely to get it, but keep in mind that it's 100 times more contageous than HIV.

Being around little munchkins all days likely skyrockets our chances of getting it.

Wow...

Back in 1992 it cost me about $75 US per shot for the series of 3.

Had to get them because a woman I had sex with (with condom, but did kiss, which scared me enough) told me the next morning that she had Hep B. Why she decided to wait until morning, I don't know. Freaked me out, and we went to the hospital together that day. They gave me a shot called, "HBIG" which was supposed to kill it off in my system before it took hold (if indeed i was infected). I then took the series of 3 shots after that.

If memory serves, the HBIG shot was darned expensive, and felt like they had injected an acorn in my butt cheek.

Don't let the skanks around the corner form the clinic give you Hep C. Do not share your kimchi with these people.
