I've read a lot about changing from Windows Vista back to XP. I'm thinking about doing it because not only would it change my laptop from a slow moving dinosaur to a fast computer, it would also allow me to interface with my MP3 player again. The last update to Windows Media Player knocked out this ability for me. I was just wondering if anyone out there has personal experience with this. There's a ton of forums about doing it, but not too much about personal experience.
Thanks,

If you're really worried about regaining as much speed as possible, your best bet is to format the partition you installed Vista onto and then just doing a fresh XP install.

I run Vista Ultimate x64 and it's blazing fast as well as extra secure.

Depending on the mak and model of your laptop, it may be difficult or even impossible to find all the proper drivers if you change the OS from Vista to XP. Take that into consideration and add it to your research list.

Jeff, I've read conflicting things about this: Will MS Word 2007 work in 64 bit or not?

Yeah, running w/out a hitch. X64 drivers are the best.

I was just worried my purchased copy of 2007 (I have 2 licenses left) wouldn't work on 64 bit, since it says 32 only. It's the student version.

I couldn't bring myself to spend good money on something that is available for free.
