Anyone try these new beers?

Cass Ice Light is only 4.2 percent alcohol as opposed to 4.5 percent for regular Cass.

OB Blue is brewed and fermented at low temperatures.

As far as Korean beers go, I kind of liked the old, normal OB. But that new OB Blue is horrible. I don't like the new Prime, either. I'm stuck having to buy Hite.

OB Blue has been around for at least a year, hasn't it?

Yeah, OB Blue has beeen around the 7 months I've been here. While not complete swill (like Hite - too sweet), it is a step down from the old OB. I remember when they changed to that formula 9 years ago - it made me switch from Cass to OB then. I think of OB Blue as the New Coke of Korean beers.

As one who likes to drink a litre or 2 after work 3 times a week, I personally enjoy the "Olde English 800" aftertaste that Prime Max carries with it....in no way is it anything like "Olde English 800" but it'll do when I need to wash my brain in stupid juice after a long day playing tiddlywinks with the gaggle of Koreans I have to deal with on a regular basis.

Cass is the only Korean beer I can stand. OB and Hite are terrible.

OB Blue is the worst excuse for beer that I've ever tasted! This is coming from a guy who's had his share of Milwaukee's Beast and other random cheap US beers. I'd rather take a beating than drink any more of that stuff!

When Prime came to market in 2003, it was advertiset as being made by the german purity law for beer and it was even written on the label. Beer was OK -I mean, a classic lager by the book - nothing exciting. However, sales were low....Now the label was changed and I guess the recepie and it sucks.

Why, oh why, they don't make a normal beer in this country?

The only good ones are those microbrews....I do not mind the price (that much Smile)- atmosphere is usually good as well as anju. For example Castle Praha near Gangnam station.

Just what this country needs: beers that are even blander and more tasteless than the original brews.

I'vr had my share of the Beast too and I'd say OB isn't that bad when put in the crappy cheap beer context. I think its way better than Hite.

The blue is average Korean brew, the ice is almost undrinkable. Cass isn't too bad.

That ice light is really, really nasty. Don't go there.
