Either a restaurant or a hotel buffet would be good

I was in Rocky Mountain Tavern last night and saw an advertisement for Christmas dinner there. It was 40,000w for turkey stuffing and sides plus wine and beer. The poster also said something about getting tickets in advance. Kinda of pricey but probably worth it if you are a drinker.
I really miss my big oven and huge apartment from last year.

Don't forget, I'm pretty sure the RMT dinner is a buffet. That would explain the 40,000 won. I usually splurge a bit and go with a few friends to the Hyatt for the Christmas brunch.

I went to RMT two years ago and wasn't that happy with it. We went to Geckos three years ago and that was very nice. Last year, we were down in Gwangju, so we weren't able to go out for Christmas Dinner.

I went to Gecko's in Itaewon last year and it was very good.

Kind of expensive (50,000 i think...i can't remember), but well worth it in my opinion.

Do you need to book a table if you want Christmas dinner at one of the nice hotels. I fancy somewhere a bit plusher that RMT

OP, you started this topic the exact same time I did. I'm glad to see a handful of constructive replies on this thread to give us the idea it's bars, restaurants, and maybe hotels that won't advertise online or in the English newspaper. This board is full of immature idiots that can rarely share what they might have seen or already know. Many feel that if they had to find out the hard way, then everyone else can too. Same goes for teaching knowledge and lesson plans.

It simply is, you go somewhere and try it without knowing much about it and hope it's worth the money. Thanks for the answers.

Here is a guide to going out for Christmas dinner

http://wiki.galbijim.com/Turkey_dinners

Last year I went to the Intercontinental Hotel near COEX. It was about 40,000 per person, but it was well worth it. The setting isn't the greatest, but the food was pretty damn good. There was a nice selection of meat, veggies, side dishes, salads, and dessert. I may try the Hyatt this year though

This year I'm going to the Grand Intercontinental. They have a buffet which includes turkey, xmas pudding, xmas cookies, pumpkin pie, stollen and xmas cake. It's 50 000 per person including the tax and service charge for lunch and 60 000 for dinner.

I called Geckos and they said they are not serving Christmas Dinner this year. I'm not sure if the person I talked to understood what I was saying.

Can anyone confirm this?

The Hyatt probably will require reservations. I usually book a few weeks ahead. It is a buffet, and it's at a hotel, and it's during the holidays, so it's kind of pricey. Last year I paid 70,000. But it was totally worth it. Not only turkey at the carving station but also ham and lamb. The warm food was arranged in small portions around the open kitchen area so it was always fresh and stocked. The sushi was great as were the desserts. They even had lobster (!). Friggin heaven. Mimosas were a nice touch too.

Lots of good info people. Keep it coming. I'm just bubbling over with all this good factual info with phone numbers, prices, locations, and serving times. Like so much else about Korea, they can't give us good info about anything and great service at fair prices. The Galbijim is even severely lacking info and site links. It's all a big cloud. I'm sure a number of places will be serving in Itaewon if you find yourself going for a walk to look since you don't want to mess with big expensive hotels who failed to give out great info without having to phone them and deal with communication errors. It's that lack of planning ahead thing as well as lack of organization.
