how did this happen??

real player wanted me to update so ok, I obliged them.

then when I restarted nothing happend - nada. I've been messing around w/it for an hour and just happened to go to the finder window, clicked on itunes and whoa! the webstream started playing.

I tried everything but don't see how to reset it for my media player - ?? does anyone know?? I've been thru ALL the preference settings for both iTunes and RP and still nothing's changed.

I hate it when a program takes over w/o permission!! Twisted Evil

windows right?

Do a system restore, =>start =>help and support =>undo changes with system restore.

will only affect programs not any documents or what have you.

In Windows Media Player, go to 'Tools', 'Options', 'File types'

Tick WMP, & UNTICK Real media player, & any otheR competing music program (eg Apple Ipod) that you've installed. They have a habit of setting themselves up as the default player, & unticking WMP, probably when you installed it.

iTunes is on the Mac - so I'm puzzled - does it also work on windows now?

anyway - I want Real Player to be my default - and that's what I set it to be - I know some folks don't like it but I do - it asked to be updated so I did.

then it wouldn't stream and I messed around trying to figure out why - I don't ever use iTunes - but when I opened it and it has an option about setting it for the default - but thinking it was an OPTION I hit it and I'll be goddamned!!! it set the doggone thing!! and now I can't seem to UNSET it - ??

anyone good w/the Mac and iTunes??

I honestly don't think it has anything to do with Real Player - ? could be wrong - donno Shocked Shocked

Itunes once started importing every mp3 I had in WMP library, until I stopped it, & to correct this, I had to set my pc to an earlier time. You need to tick 'real player' as your default player, & 'untick' Itunes. How to do that, I don't know.

that's just it - I always choose Real Player as my default and I did this time as well - I'm just wondering if they've teamed up with iTunes or something?

yeah I put in a cd to play on my mac when it was new and in the blink of an eye it started copying the songs and loading them on my drive and I'm like WTF???!!!

Itunes > Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Use iTunes as the default media player for audio files * uncheck this box.

then select real player to be your default.....

this is what I keep saying - - Peferences has an option about setting it for the default - but thinking it was an OPTION I hit it and I'll be goddamned!!! it set the doggone thing!! and now I can't seem to UNSET it - ??

there is NO other choice there - if you hit "Set" - it sets it and there doesn't seem to be a way to "UNset" it - ?? wtf??

I don't have a box to check or uncheck - don't know why. and real player IS my default player (supposed to be anyway)!
