A completely superficial question: Will people in Korea be nicer to me if I invest in colored contacts, ceteris paribus. |

99% of the time it won't make any difference but you will be more beautiful. |

Oh yeah: Same in South America. Mind you - you are a handsome bastard or you aren't - depends what factor of facial pollution you suffer from for your blue tinted contact lenses to be necessary. |

They have these special contacts in Korea that have grey outlines of the pupils. IT works great for girls givign them and UBER cute factor.
If you're a guy, roll the dice, live life, tell us how it goes. |

What colour goes best with an olive skin tone? I am guessing green.
I am a male. Often people ask if I'm Greek or Brazilian based on my skin tone. |

I love my blue eyes. I am the only one in my family with blue eyes now. Before my maternal grnadmother passed away, she had blue eyes. So, I feel like having blue eyes is like having a special gift from my grandmother. My eyes also have goldish yellow flecks, and when I am sick or sad, they look a bit gray. So, I love my unique eyes. |

Students will comment on how beautiful your eyes are possibly. I can't tell you the number of times my middle school girls have said to me "teacher, eyes changee." Mine are green (no contacts). |

My eyes are hazel.
Depending on the lighting of a room or what color shirt I'm wearing they can look like they have changed to green or blue. Shit is weird. This is off topic, but whatever. |

I have blue eyes, and I love Korea!
Me and my brown-eyed friends have done studies, and 9 times out of 10, I get more french fries at McDonalds. (We meticulously count them just to be sure).
Also, when it rains, my brown-eyed friends and I walk around in the rain without an umbrella....9 times out of 10, a Korean will nicely give me an umbrella, but ignore my brown-eyed friend entirely....even though the bad Korean person is actually carrying around two extra umbrellas and COULD give us both one for free, I notice he will nicely give one to me as the blue-eyed foreigner, but NOT my brown-eyed friends.
Fear not though, my brown-eyed foreigner friends, as blue-eyed foreigners will like your company, because we want more fries and umbrellas from Koreans, and you're what we need to do this! |

It never failed "scarce, therefore valuable"
Also, the blue-eyed were the winners of natural selection, it must have the reasons. |

I've seen several caucasian females here who naturally have brown eyees wear blue contact lenses. I find it is very easy to spot, even easier than spotting fake boobs
ps. why do you think so many western ppl here want blue contacts? do you think it is some ideal of blue eyed westerner they are trying to live up to? |

Easy to spot? Like spotting a jealous Korean dude posting on this board? That easy? |

Maybe you're honestly just more attractive? I don't know you personally, so I can't judge. |

Not too sure how much blue eyes count here.
My Ice Blue eyes get lots of comments from students: Teachaaa, eyes blue," "Teachaa, contacts blue,?" "Teachaa eyes beautiful" etc.
But I'm sure it's only Confucian student junior-senior, flattery.
When I first came I wore jeans a lot, and some Koreans were outright rude and hostile to me. Many said I look "Rooooosun" (thanks to my Viking ancestry - ice blue eyes and long nose). So my baby blues were making me look like a Russian 3 D worker - hence the bad treatment. This nonsense has largely stopped - since I've started dressing like an American tourist.
Go figure. |
