If I take this job in Seoul, can someone tell me how much it costs for staple foods: milk, bread, rice, chicken, potatoes, minced beef, cheese
And if I buy a ready-made meal like a curry, how much is it likely to be?
How much is a hamburger menu at Mcdonalds
how much for a pint of beer in a bar? How much in shop? |

| those prices are outdated. try adding at least W1,000 to all of the grocery items and a few hundred won to the taxi meters and subway fares. |

| It is very easy to save one million won a month here. I've been doing it pretty consistently for a long time. You could probably save even more than that if your salary is a little higher than a newbie's and if you watch your spending. |

ready made curry is 80 cents to $1 .25
Technically you could live in an eating budget of 100 a month......but you don't have too....
Depends on Your salary....2.2 it's possible.....But it depends on how much you like to go out....sometimes when I see people saving 1.5+ mil a month, I have to wonder if they're making 3.0+ mill a month or playing xbox 360 24/7 |

expect to pay a premium for those items listed as they may be staple foods to YOU, not to Koreans. You think Koreans eat/drink milk, bread, beef and cheese everyday? think again.
edited to add that the more closely your diet resembles a Korean one, they more money you'll save. How much you actually will save obviously depends on your salary.
I find the prices in Seoul to be very cheap for certain items, outrageous for others. Of course that assessment is compared to where I'm from (Vancouver) |
