My wife and I are having a "discussion"
There are the points we disagree on. So hopefully some of you guys can help me. If you can provide links to the answers even better.
1. When did the Korean people make rice a steady part of their diet?
2. When were chili peppers first introduced to Korea?
Any help would be appreciated. |

Here is what wikipedia says about rice:" Mainstream archaeological evidence derived from palaeoethnobotanical investigations indicate that dry-land rice was introduced to Korea and Japan some time between 3500 and 1200 BC. "
this site says chili peppers were introduced 15th century A.D.:

Off the top of my head, chili peppers found their way here around the 17th century. I recall that the chili pepper was introduced to Korea by Portuguese traders, who also brought sweet potatoes and other vegetables from the Americas.
As for rice, not sure. |

According to my Korean book, red peppers are a new world vegetable (along with corn, potatoes, etc.) that were introduced via the Japanese invasion in the late 16th century. It says 1766 is the first recorded year red pepper poweder was used in making kimchi. |

It is controversial where the rice planting started in the world. More and more researches support the multi-origin hypothesis, which says rice planting was developed independently in different places around globe ( mainly in Asia and Africa) ,In Aisa, one important place of origin is China, ~10,000 years ago, people in China started to cultivate rice artificially, It is estimated ~3,000 years ago, rice was first introduced into Korea. |

You try typing with a 4 year old screaming and pulling on your leg while you are holding you 1 year old in your lap.
BTFW if you can understand what I wrote than I did ok. If you want to nitpick go the *beep* AWAY and pick on someone else. If you don't like the way it looks then shut the *beep* up and look at another thread. Not everyone is an ASSHOLE like you are. |

A great set gag. Plant a misspelled word in the thread title then fire in the hole when someone picks up on it. It's really a call to arms for the downtrodden dislexics of the world |

I'm glad I didn't write out my original response...it was much meaner. I actually stopped myself before I wrote it and thought to myself "You know...that's probably a little too mean." I ended up writing something pretty tame and caused you to froth at the mouth. Had I written my original piece they'd probably still be cleaning pieces of you off the monitor.
You seem to be wound a little tight there guy. Next time get your 4 year old to check your spelling and you'll be golden. |

Obviously an honest typo. The i and o are positioned right next to each other. So, I didn't mention anything because I thought it was trivial and happens to the best of us with fast or fat fingers. |
