I consider life in Korea much like a joint of meat. We are lovingly prepared, basted, tenderised. When we arrive here(or out of the stove) we are carefully transported with gloves to our place of execution. We are then stabbed with a serving fork, and slowly but surely cut into portions to be consumed(by students, Korean teachers and Directors) finally everyone one has their piece! All is left is a husk or shell of the prime meat we were before!!! |

In what way were you lovingly prepared.....
...did you tendorize yourself with a teaching course before you came
...did you read a cookbook to get an inkling of what life would be like once you became part a Korean recipe
...did you season yourself with a little knowledge on how to teach or classroom management
...or did you just jump out of the butcher shop and onto a plane before arriving in your new home
I do not consider myself a piece of meat...and I am well prepared to meet the onslot of forks and hungry mouths with a few well sharpened utensils of my own. |

Teachers as meat? Hmm. Some are prime, though I've noticed others who are less than Grade A quality. Made many a Korean choke in the consumption.
If one is a piece of meat here, one must be similar to that creature in the "HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy", the one which asks to be eaten and points out the succulent bits of its anatomy to the potential diner before being cooked and happily presented for consumption.
And of course, that creature didn't get paid a decent wage either... |

Hmmm...
You forgot about the part where they hired you (tender meat victim that you are) even though you were fresh out of college with little to no experience...
The part about providing you a decent place to live free of charge was forgotten as well...
How about the part where they paid for your airfare here and back...
Also, you forgot about the part of how they make you work an extremely torturous 30 WHOLE HOURS A WEEK!!!...
The nerve of these people.... Yes, you are such a poor poor victim in all of this.... |

I've always seen myself as a lamb chop kinda guy. You know, tough, cruel and open towards feminist statements. |

A lot a mad cows disease in Korea. It must have originated from Korea, as it can be caused by tainted feed. |
