I used to buy calamari from COSTCO, Emart and Home Plus and it was great - just like you would expect calamari to be back home (well, my home, anyway). Then, one sad day, I bought another bag and noticed it was different to my earlier purchases. The 'batter' used to be a solid crust, but now it is more like flour sprinkled on to the meat, and the meat is now purple, instead of white. Furthermore, the texture is totally wrong - it's not rubbery and in one piece, like it should be, it feels like the meat has been minced and processed.

Anyone have any explanation for this or any advice on where I can buy some better stuff? I'm pretty bummed by the taste of the calamari I bought yesterday, after thinking that it might have got better.
