I clicked the link within the pension stick and it was dead. My Hagwon is trying to get around paying pension, I can tell. They are saying its teachers are "freelance" So they (said hagwan) dont need to pay in. Where can I find online the rules, to the letter of the pension payments? Thanks.

If you are on an E-2, you cannot legally be a "freelancer." Get ready for big fights and lots of problems.

Just wait until your contract is finished and then go into the pension office. Make sure you have your share of the contributions. Revenge is a dish best served cold. If you have to leave Korea the day your contract is up, extend the date on your plane ticket and then go into immigration to make an extension. They'll give you up to 14 days more to leave the country. If you're fired or quit before the end of the contract, you just have to go into immigration to get an exit order that gives you 30 days after your last day of teaching to leave the country.

It's all doable without kicking up a fuss right now at work.

(2) Who are excluded from the coverage of the Scheme?
Those falling under any of the following items are excluded from the coverage of the scheme even if they satisfy the general coverage criteria.

- The government employees, military personnel, private school teachers, and employees of specially
designated post office, because they are covered under their own pension plans.

So, I work at a private....this seems to say we dont get pension....or we are covered somewhere else? What am I missing?
