|
|
I bought a region free dvd player from someone in the buy/sell/trade forum. Only problem is that the player reads "wrong region" after I insert a region 1 disc. It will play region 3 perfectly. I emailed the people I got it from, and they said they never had any problems.
Is there a special code I need? Anyone else experience this? I would deeply appreciate any insight into this prob. Right now, I have a pile of region 1 DVDs that I might as well use as coasters.
Btw, the player is TKDS, model 3100
*TIA* |

It could be broken then. Region free DVD players are supposed to just accept the disk and play. OR you have to manually select which region you want? |

I bought one too. Mine didn't say explicitly "region free" but it did say it was NTSC/PAL compatible, that to me says it will play all discs. Same problem wrong region. I had to rip some DVD presents and burn them all region to watch the damn things on the TV! |

sounds like its not a region free player then.....maybe flick through the settings, you can sometimes switch regions in the settings...otherwise you gotta get the right discs. |

Doesn't sound like your player is region free. I have a region free player, and I've played discs from both back home and korean ones and they always worked, all I had to do was insert the disc.
When I bought the DVD player in yongsan, I just asked the shopkeeper if he could make it region free, and he took it to the back and and changed some factory settings or something. |

Thanks for the replies guys!
I messed around with the remote and settings, but only found a spot to change the country. There is no mention of region anywhere, which I find odd. Evidently, it's not region free - bummer |

Search Google for region hack and your model number and unlock it yourself. |

I paid 40 for the player.
I have searched for hacks, but came up with nothing for this particular model.
edit: just found a region free on gmarket for about the same price |
