Well, the search function didn't do much for me, so here goes. I am looking for a cheap hotel for the night of Jan. 3 near the train station. I will be departing in the morning for the south to get back to work on the 5th. Korean websites are pulling up for me here in Thailand, and the searching isn't going well.

In that area, you're looking at either ratty little hole-in-the-wall yeogwans or, well, the Hilton.

I live at sookdae eep gu yuk (sookmyung womens U.) one stop south of Seoul yuk on both line 4 and line 1 (or about a 10 minute walk).

There are many cheap motels around here - 40,000 range. There are a bunch grouped together by the west wall of Yongsan military base. Take the train (or walk) to Sookdae yuk or Namyeong Yuk, look at one of the street maps to find the base.
