Laughing Laughing

I just got mine - at the little mart just next door to Indigo in Haebonchon. If you are going in Indigo, it's on your right hand side.

black-eyed peas, that is. I cook cabbage, not collards, so you can get that anywhere.

picked up some Jiffy Mix cornbread at Haddon mrkt last week, so will have a nice New Year's Day meal.

Happy New Year's everyone!! Laughing Laughing

Maybe some of the foreigner places like RMT, Wolfhounds, and Gekkos will be serving New Years Day dinner?

Might check the Red Door in Itaewon if they have black eyed peas. Might be open right now as Korean store people work holidays.

it probably will be - but if not and you really really want to keep the tradition and need some black-eyed peas - the bag I bought had a lot more than I need.

you can come take the rest of them - I'm in HBC - just post here I'll check. if you can pm, do so w/a phone num.

personally I went out lookin' for them - I'd kept this up for years and years until comin' to K and had a couple of bad experiences - I'm shippin' home in 2009 and want all the good luck I can possibly find!! Laughing Laughing

Thanks Moosehead. I went to the place in HBC and they didn't have any. I could have been at the wrong place, they seemed rather confused about my description of black eye peas.
Anyways the red door place in Itaewon has them. They are called white labia beans. So I'm a happy camper today. I'll be bringing some to school tomorrow to eat with my coworkers.
On a side not I also found some okra! It's gonna be a Gumbo new year as well.

I'm glad you found them - yes you must have been at the wrong store because that's where I bought them yesterday. The woman there knows me and we talked about them for a few minutes.

frozen okra comes around from time to time and yes, it's pretty yummy also Laughing

Happy New Year!!

*edit* what will you use for file for the gumbo? (to those who don't know it's a spice and it's pronounced "fi-lay")
