|
|
I opened up my windows this afternoon to get some fresh air into my place, and when I came back home my computer wouldn't turn on. I don't know if the temperature and computer problem are related, but I thought I'd mention it.
There is a green light on the mother board that is turned on, but nothing starts up. I've tried unplugging everything, cleaning the dust out, etc. but it still won't start up.
Any suggestions on how to get it powered up again? |

It doesn't load because I can't get it to turn on at all. As I said above, there is a small LED light that is turned on on the motherboard, but that's it. |

yeah i meant load as in when you press the button soz, you should hear a beep it means its 'posting', if it doesn't then it sounds like a prob with the motherboard or it could be the psu if the fans arent turning...computers can be tricky to diagnose if your not computer literate, to get them fixed here is very cheap if your not sure what you are doing.
Anyway, if you have checked all the connections on the inside....you could try reseting the battery on the motherboard, but if your getting nothing at all from the comp it could be the psu and id take it too a shop. A new powersupply etc wont cost you much at all. |

If there's no sound from the power supply at the top-back of your PC then that's your problem.
Power supply has gone.
The light on your motherboard is just from the lithium battery built in the mobo.
BTW, it's nothing to do with opening your windows!!
You can bring the PC to any computer store or Yongsan to get the power supply replaced. I recommend paying a little more for PSU. Upwards of 50,000. |

Was anything pressing on a key, or was a key stuck? That can do it. So can unseated ram memory.
My wife's computer does this once in a blue moon, and I have to unplug the cables in the back for a minute, and plug them back in. Then, it's fine. I'm not sure if it's a malfunctioning USB item, or power supply. |

I'm sure the power supply is going out. It randomly turned on, and when I tried to attach the cable to the monitor, the power went out. Then a few minutes later the computer turned on by itself again. I attached the monitor cable and everything worked fine. When I slightly bumped the tower, the computer restarted. I'll get it checked out next week |

Sounds more like the on/off switch or reset switch is loose/sticking - going/gone.
I'd look there before swapping out the PS.
