|
|
While not yet verified yet I have reason to believe I am an asymptomatic carrier of genital warts (HPV). A recruiter is encouraging me to accept offers of employment in Korea and advises that the Korean authorities are just interested in TB and HIV. Im skeptical of course ( since a different strain is linked to cervical cancer). Cant place myself in a situation where I might face deportation. Assuming I am positive, does the medical screening they do specifically screen for HPVs? |

In the murky underworld of Korean visa bureacracy nobody will give you a 100% straight answer. Because there isn't one.
Everything is open to interpretation, unless it is an absolute - such as being HIV positive.
In your case it is a gray area.
It could go either way. It would be wise to not bring it up and hope that it doesn't get noticed, which is a fair chance.
Being "deported" is not a disaster either. You won't be detained in a prison as such, you will just have to exit the country by a certain date.
You could easily go and work in Japan or elsewhere with less/no medical checks, so it is not the end of the world. |

They can't test for HPV without physically looking at a wart or doing a pap smear. The medical test to get your ARC is just a blood and pee test, you'll be fine. |

... that's even more reassuring than Soviet_man's take, as I balance going to Korea sooner or Japan or Hong Kong later.
