Looks like they are just waiting for favorable weather.

Good luck Hamas.

Unfortunately, it will bring more suffering to the Gaza Strip, but firing primitive missiles at Israel is not productive.

We are talking about peoples' lives over here. Hundreds of civilians are going to end up dead in the Gaza Strip. I don't support Hamas and their ideology, but collective punishment is a violation of international law. I wish the two sides would sign some kind of peace agreement. It would be nice, at least, if Syria and Israel come to an agreement. As far as Hamas, they shouldn't have been elected in the first place, but that was Bush's idea indirectly.

Yeah, and it was the Palestinians idea directly. You reap what you sow.

If you mean the creation of a Palestinian state, I agree. There will never be peace without one. However, I am unconvinced that this would end the BS. Israel gave back Gaza, and Hamas kept sending rockets and mortar fire across the border.

What a mess.

The Palestinians have already been given almost all of Gaza and the West Bank: but they keep throwing stones and rockets. Israel should drive Hamas out of Gaza and make a client state of Fatah-led Palestine.

I know that this will be classed as propoganda, but it does lay out certain arguments well.

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1050421.html

Quote:
Leftist 1: Israel's true motive in bombing Gaza, is genocide against the Palestinian people and extermination of their right to statehood.
Israel's genuine interest in this campaign is strikingly similar to Hamas' interest in firing scores of rockets into Israeli population centers: Forcing a cease-fire on better terms than the one just ended.
For Hamas, this largely means easing Israeli economic sanctions against Gazans. For Israel, this centers on ending shelling by Qassam and Grad missiles and mortar shells. For both sides, this means a prisoner exchange, centering on Gilad Shalit and hundreds of jailed Hamas members.

Leftist 2: The Palestinians have no recourse but to defend themselves, and the makeshift rockets they fire are nothing compared to the world's most advanced warplanes and munitions, which the IDF is using against them.

The Human Rights Watch organization has been unequivocal in condemning the use of Qassam rockets as a direct violation of international humanitarian law and the laws of war. The firing of Qassams and mortars against civilian populations also
constitutes collective punishment
against hundreds of thousands of innocent Israeli men, women and children.

Moreover, the firing of Qassams began not as a response to the siege against Gaza, but as a marathon celebration by armed Islamic fundamentalist groups following Israel's withdrawal of its troops and settlers from the Strip. To purposely add insult to injury, Islamic Jihad and other organizations used the ruins of settlements as launch platforms.

The Palestinians need a third party to emerge for some of the same reasons America needs a viable third party. Gaza isn't ever going to amount to anything until the Palestinians start placing a tremendous emphasis on commerce and academic education and stop obsessively wasting their time and money on unwinnable wars.

Holy Bodycount! Pretty surgical too, out of 225 bodies so far, only 15 have been women or children. Mighty efficient combatant to civilian ratio!

agreed, if that is true. how would you ever know. all i know is that Israel is going bananas with airstrikes and its creating a wedge between hamas and fata because one is blaming the other for the slaughter. doing exactly what israel wants, divide them up
