According to the Korean DLA's website (http://www.dla.go.kr/english/02_news/news01.jsp), I can get a Korean license on the basis of my UK driver's license after passing a physical exam.
Also, is there a DLA in Mokpo? All I can find on their English website is an office in Seoul. |

You can call them for detail. They have the number on that website and they can speak English. |

There will be one in Mokpo or nearby. Just go there and they will fix you up easy as 1-2-3. One of the few things that are easy in Korea. |

did it in daegu... need to bring your license, 4 passport sized photos, and about 30,000won... you take a quick phys (eyes, ears, grip and squat [to make sure you can in case of being broken down with nowhere else to go maybe]), a written test (less than 20 questions; it took me less than 5 mins), and pay the fees... easy peasy japanesey... |

The process was pretty simple. I got my license in September and it took about 3 hours total. The test is a joke. |
