What's the deal with DVD rooms? I thought they were just a place to go and watch a DVD, but from the posts on this site, I'm thinking there's more to it. Is there something I should know?

well, i asked my korean buddy if it was a good idea to ask my relatively new korean gf if she wanted to go watch a movie in a dvd room...he said 'bad idea'. but the next time i saw her, she suggested it rather than a movie theater, becuase there was one close by...
she's pretty shy so far, so that was pretty ballsy of her if dvd rooms mean anything more than just a movie...
but i think i would compare it with back home, and inviting a girl over to watch a movie at your pad. anything can happen. just remember; most koreans live with their parents, so can't really chill out with a bf/gf any given night. and, there's not really 100% privavcy; they mostly have tinted windows, so you can't get away with too much, unless you and your girl are exhibitionists!
peace

Well I think they are duel purpose.

I have gone with a group of people to one because it was more convienent and cheaper than going to a movie. All the other people were Korean btw.

Also you can take your date that and basically make out etc. Video Bangs and DVD Bangs a lot of Korean couples will watch the flick only...a lot of them will goto first, second, third base...a few might even score a home run Razz

Bulsajo; you hit the nail on the head there. "Welcome back to high school". as if the "couples" phone accessories aren't bad enough...my friends would kill me back home...and all so that i can get to at least third base, right Mr. Pink? haha
