Alright, I am getting a serious headache trying to sort out this journey. I will arrive tomorrow night at 20:40. I have a train departing in the morning back to Ulsan. So, I have resolved to stay near Seoul Station. From my previous post, I have figured out the hotel portion of my trip. Now, I must get there from the airport. I am not sure how long it is going to take me to clear immigration, but I am betting it will be around an hour.
It would appear that the Airport Bus doesn't run that late. So, here is what I have worked out.
Transfer to Gimpo via AREX. 3,200 won
Transfer to Line 5.
Transfer to Line 1 at Singil.
My fourth stop will be Namyeong, and the cost should be 1,200 won.
Is this the easiest, cheapest way to make this journey? It seems like an excessive number of transfers for what is supposed to be a world class city. Nonetheless, this is what I have found on the net. This route is significantly cheaper than taking a taxi and not much longer. |

Sounds about right.
In a year or so, the airport train will connect to Yongsan, which is 1 station from Namyeong. Not yet. |

With the help of a nice Korean man my wife and I sat next to on the airplane, he offered to escort us to the train and make the connection. With our bags, he said it might be difficult. He took us outside to confirm that the airport bus was no longer running. He said there was another bus. I paid 14,000 won for the trip to Seoul Station. I didn't see this option on the internet. It was worth the extra money for the ease of the transfer. |
