Hello,

I am currently in the application process with ChungDahm Learning (aka CDI) via a recruiter. They offered me employment and asked me to sign a MOU (Memorendum of Understanding) as well as sending my documents to the recruiter so they can start applying for my VISA - which I have all done. But I have not read and/or signed an official contract from the school yet. My recruiter says the school will send me the contract when they decide which branch in Seoul to put me in. They offered me the position in mid-Dec. of 2008 and is still deciding as per my recruiter.

Has anyone ever had a similar experience or know what is going on? Is this a normal process for them? Ever since I got the offer, I stopped looking for jobs in Korea and I'm concerned they may cancel the employment offer for whatever reason and I would have wasted about a month's time.

A friend from back home was in the same situation as you. He was offered at the end of November and just got an official contract last week. From what I understand, they wouldn't send an MOU unless they were certain that they were going to hire you.

That being said, they informed my friend that because a lot of people want to be in Seoul, those positions tend to be somewhat competitive (for obvious reasons). His recruiter said that if he was willing to go outside the capital they could find him a position quicker.

He decided to wait for a Seoul position and they found him one shortly. Not sure if there are many Seoul locations left so it may be best to consider satellite cities. He said that they were willing to give him a higher salary and bonus if he did so.

Good luck Smile
