Do you find yourself attracting drunks. I mean just being somewhere and the drunk gravitates towards the foreigner.

It's quite an old one. When drunk, shyness often morphs into nerves of steel in terms of speaking English and starting a conversation with a stranger "foreigner." Can be terribly annoying when your trying to focus on pulling chickies and suddenly every drunk ajjoshi and his cousin wants your ear. Twisted Evil

I prefer my good sir, the company of dipso, winos, drunks and lushes as they add the spice of variety to life.
I would also like to add, your honor, that while I may have been conversing with them, in no way are they my friends. In fact, I had only just met this evening on my way to pass out religious pamplets.

We're also excellent targets for the random autistic kids you see alone on the subway. The looks on the Koreans' faces when we don't turn red and run away is hilarious.

I wonder how many people would live in Korea if they DIDN'T drink. I know they're out there, but man...

On Wednesday night, Christmas Eve, I met a drunk (or crazy) man who wanted to sell me his last bag of dried fish. I wouldn't buy it, but struck up a conversation despite our lack of understanding for the other's spoken words. My friends translated that he said "All foreigners are beautiful in Korea. Except you. You nose is beautiful, but you are ugly."

I proceeded to laugh my ass off. He got on the next train and sat across from me. His hysterical anger and my responses (or gag concert) had half the subway car laughing, especially the bilingual people. After a couple stops, the guy go off and almost shook my hand when I extended it. He then realized his "mistake" and pulled his hand away, blabbering off onto the platform.

I wasn't alone, but I sure was drunk. Cheers, crazy drunk old man.

If all you do is sit in bars, it's likely you will attract drunks.

Likewise if you often shout: "Next round is on me!!"

If you REALLY want people to leave you alone, ask everyone if you can borrow some money. Works every time. Wink

Polls on 'Dave's' are always missing the option that applys to me. In this case, 'All the above'.

Last night Mr. Jang was into the tequila, vodka and beer... fell off his bar stool... I swear I didn't help him Wink ... it's Ok though... my new, best K-buddy works at the local hospital. I'm sure he'll be in the hof again tonight wearing his K-ospital PJs and pushing the IV stand.

I don't see the point of getting drunk.

No drunks ever approach me.

HOWEVER, I seem to be a target for deaf people. Even if I'm surrounded by 30 Koreans, the deaf person will come to me for money.

Drunken Korean men love me, and seek me out tirelessly. I've still not found a way to deflect their kerosene-breathed blathering about the various differences between our cultures, facial, and bodily features. They seem to find me at the most annoying times: when I'm in the sauna detoxing, when I'm at Seoul Station saying goodbye to my girlfriend, when I'm reading a book at a park, and so on.

Why can't it be big-tittied drunken college girls?
