I've been away from Dave's for a while. I came back to moan (where better, after all) and was struck by the amount of threads about girls and boys in love triangles and disasters. What's the deal? It's all a little too Dr Phil. |

Re: the women being lonely
The Western guys I've met here are mostly undesirable, taken or prefer the Korean ladies. It does suck being a woman here sometimes. Korean men simply can't speak English well enough for me to be interested, which doesn't seem to be an issue with guys here. I don't imagine conversation is on the top of their list.
But what I REALLY wanted to say is: Panda- your avatar is so close to being a furry that it actually made me uncomfortable to view, haha! |

Ahniyo. Waegookin exoticism seems to have just as strong of an aphrodisiacal (?) effect on Korean men as it does on Korean women. Just have to be a little proactive, since Korean men (I have found) are well aware of the well-traveled legend of Western women's aversion to Asian men (stupid).
Anyway, Korean men seem to be less willing to try to speak English than women, which is an issue. Whatever. I'm learning Korean just as fast as my little brain can handle. |

You wouldn't think so, right? It sure is nice to actually have a relationship with someone that is fluent in English. It's too bad that I can't reciprocate that. My Korean is still marginal even though I try. |

I can see the attraction to newer (younger) generation Korean guys,...western ladies.
I can and good on ya!
Nice dressers, good-looking, clean, smart, well edu'd and many know how to treat a woman. I have some K guy mates, who REALLY go out of their way to make their women feel comfortable and (more importantly) happy.
Their jealousy rates still seem to topple their western counterparts though. |

I have a suggestion to all those lonely and horny guys out there If you can't find a Korean woman to date, why don't you try your other foreign teachers Or does it have to be "while in Korea, gotta date a Korean"?
BTW, I'm joking. |

Yeah, honestly I had never really heard anyone talk about this until my male Korean co-workers brought it up every damn time we went out (like, on the street, not necessarily to a bar) together. Homeless guy rants incoherently? "It's because I am an Asian guy with a Western girl, right?" Cab driver honks? "People think it's strange to see us together, right?" |
