I guess these things are done for charity. I find them the stupidest way to raise money for charity, but this time around, a couple participants got a wee confused.

Fight Breaks Out At Vancouver's Polar Bear Swim.

Vancouver held their annual Polar Bear Swim on New Year's Day 2009 ... and this year a fight broke out between a guy wearing a pink boa wrap and another guy in tights and a wrestler's mask.

haha. Actually, my Korean wife did a year homestay in Calgary and a year in Vancouver. She said that Calgarians were very kind, but Vancouverites were kind of cold.

I've met many Canadians from all across Canada while in Korea, and I am of the opinion that the most obnoxious folks I've come across are Maritimers and Newfoundlanders. a lot of them seem to have a big 'ol chip on their shoulder about Toronto or Calgary.

Maybe they are jealous that Calgary has the highest percentage of post-secondary grads in Canada, and I tend to think higher educated people don't seem to be "mad at the world", so to speak. I find that small town people who have been around the same folks their whole lives have trouble adjusting to a more cosmopolitan way of looking at things.

I worked with a middle-aged Vancouver hippy pot-head who was always telling me how laid back people were in Vancouver and how he missed the vibe. Yet, he was always bitching about something, so I'll take his opinion with a grain of salt.

Indeed you are. This is the off-topic forum, not the life in korea forum. This is about as OT as you can get so it's perfect.

Anyway, did that raging out guy say "Nobody F*cks with my boa?" LOL
