Two things maybe someone here can enlighten me on?
1) Where can I find traditional Korean instruments? I have a friend who plays something called a Cornetta China - it's a Chinese double reed instrument they play in Cuba for comparsa. (Congas) Anyway, it is similar to the Korean Taepyeongso. He can't find reeds and I told him I would look for a place that sells Taepyeongso and send him some of those reeds to see if they will work.
2) Is it possible to practice my instrument in an apartment? It's kind of loud and I'm a self-teaching beginner. What is the respectable hours for playing music there? (I don't want to ruin people's dinner, etc.) You see so many instances of Korean children playing instruments, I figure they must be practicing at home at some point...I was wondering also if it would be safe to store and practice it at my public school after closing, as an alternative. Do we get any storage that is lockable?
Thanks in advance! |
