Tax Freedom ? Yes, it is possible if you take these legal steps.
One thing that U.S. prospective English teachers can do before
they leave for Korea (if you do not own a home in the U.S.) is
to set up a remail address in the U.S. that is located in a state
without income tax. Why punish yourself because your parents
live in a state that has state income tax and you do not own a
home there? Take advantage of the tax freedom this affords
you since you do not own property in the U.S.
This tax freedom remail address helps you in two ways:
1. If you have credit cards from a bank in the U.S. and you
keep having the statements sent to your remail address in
the U.S. then the credit card companies will not cancel your
cards since they do not know you have left for Korea.
2. If you have your address in a state without income tax then
when you fill out your 1040 form you can list your address back
home on there and you will not have to fill out a state tax return.
You will only have to fill out a federal tax return with that special
form that allows you to be exempt from all federal tax as you are
working in Korea = tax freedom
Anyone interested in several recommendations for a remail address
for state tax freedom in the U.S. then email me using the email
address found on my web site: -freedomoffshore.com- This info. is
completely free but it is protected from the view of those who would
like to take away the freedoms you enjoy as offshore employees of
an offshore company.
If you are in Korea right now and plan on being there for just a short
time longer then this tax freedom strategy probably is not for you.
