One way is to use a phono plug cable from your cassette headphone out to your computer sound card's mic input. But keep levels low at first! You can damage it with levels far too high.

Record using a free recorder like Audacity , which can be downloaded online. Save as .mp3's. I suggest at least 160kps with audacity.

Don't forget to get the Lame encoder or whatever so you can export .mp3's. You'll be reminded the first time you try though.

lame encoder is easy and free ...

however, i'd recommend that when you record it, use FLAC which is a free, open source, lossless format ... that way you can transcode it to any format you want (including mp3) without worrying about the original.

here's a wiki on tape to computers: http://www.wikihow.com/Transfer-Cassette-Tape-to-Computer

there's also usb tape players available which do the same thing.

have fun!

btw, apparently this was released in south korea:

http://www.forevergeek.com/gadgets/plusdeckex_-_an_external_usb_tape_player.php

and there are bound to be similar items available too.
