Hi all,

Im now terribly confused after reading the multiple posts on here and was hoping someone would be able to help.

Im currently working at a hagwon here. I came into Korea on Feb 15th 2008, and got my ARC on March 7 2008.

My visa in my passport says it was issued on Feb 6 2008.

My current contract with my hagwon is up on Feb 22nd.

My working knowledge (in part by my employer) is that my visa expires on Feb 15th of this year, but since my contract is not up until the 22nd, I am OK because there is a 2 week grace period that I can stay in Korea before I leave.

Do I need to file for a 2 week extension? Or atleast file for an extension to cover me from Feb 15th-22nd?

Now the grey area - Im actually changing employers. I have signed a new contract that is set to begin March 2. I am in the works now of applying for a new visa - I've sent away for my CRC, transcripts etc. I will have to go on a visa run to Japan. Will I have any problems leaving the country or re-entering the country with my expired visa & ARC?

Your arc card has your official visa expiration date. If your visa expires before your contract end date, you need to extend the visa. I believe it's free of charge to extend up to 30 days.
