I left the amazingly narrow bottle on the set of shelves above my toilet open, and after brushing my teeth, I knocked it into the toilet.

I know this is a classic lie to get more pills, but my situation is real. Think the doc will buy it? I'm worried because I need these things. I had the script filled last Thursday, so I lost 3 weeks worth of meds.

i used to work in a pharmacy (in America) and this is how this stuff worked:

if the doctor believed you, he could give you another script but then it was up to the insurance company to decide whether they will pay

if it's a C2 then you're out of luck - I don't think anyone would refill a C2 script after only a week

C6 or above meds should be fine but once again it's up to the insurance to pay - if not you'll pay for the entire thing

now, keep in mind this was in America, not sure if it's the same in Korea, but I can imagine it won't be much different

You could just go to a different doctor. I doubt they coordinate these things.

I was almost in your situation this morning. My cat stole my pills. Fortunately they were only behind a cabinet.

My doc dispenses my meds from his office. I don't care about insurance.

I'm not going to a different doctor. I believe that's illegal.

Umm couldn't you just pull it out and show it to him as proof?

I mean, he can't really argue with it if he sees it. Just ask him to replace the ones that you show him.

it's obvious proof you aren't abusing if you can show him the remaining pills.

Your doctor has no choice but to believe you. No photo necessary. Simple go back and tell him what happened. He'll give you the new pills and tell you to store them somewhere different.

What do you think he would do? Say, "Sorry, I don't believe you" and then take the chance that you will get sick or worse under his care?

I'm at the office now. He believed me. Whew.

I studied psychology including addiction and I know that this excuse is common for addicts to get more meds, that's why I was concerned.
