I just got one done here in Daejeon. It was a bit of a pain in the ass. According to the police officer a school principal or employer has to request the police check. An individual just cannot walk in and request a check be done.
I'm thinking of changing jobs so was getting the police check done just to stick in my documents file for future use. I did not want my current school knowing I was getting a background check. So, there was no-one but me to make the CB request except me. After going around and around with the officer he shouted that what I want was against the law and I was demanding that he break the law. Then he ran the check for me :D
You need to go to one of the main Police Stations in the city your in. Most small neighborhood police stations don't do this service. All in all it took me about 45 minutes. |

| Hey. I've had to get quite a few of these recently. You can totally walk in and ask for one. I've gone to Uijeongbu each time, just cos it's the closest. I went to the "foreigner file a complaint area", to get the form. Fill it out (they have English instructions taped to the table so you know what to write where) Take it next door, give them your arc. Et voila, 10 minute later, you get your stamped form. |
